Spreading news in 2008

Filed under UF Voices on January 15, 2008.

The new year brings opportunity for new beginnings, as well as reflection on the past.

As I reflect on 2007, I think about the many University of Florida stories which appeared in “Inside UF.” It is impossible to communicate everything that is happening, but “Inside UF” attempts to communicate as much as possible – either online or in the biweekly print editions.

We rely on you to let us know what’s going on in your respective area, in order to best communicate campus news. So I thought it would be a good way to begin the year by offering how to submit editorial information, such as news releases, for publication consideration.

Access to the online version of “Inside UF” is found on the UF homepage, www.ufl.edu. Two top stories appear daily on the UF homepage. To view the entire newsletter, click on the “Inside UF” in blue text or go directly to http://insideuf.ufl.edu/. The online newsletter contains more information than the biweekly print edition, as space is far more limited with the print edition. The online “Inside UF” also offers a print archive.

If you wish to publicize an event rather than submit editorial material, you may submit information to the online UF calendar. Click on the blue “calendar” button on the UF homepage, and then select “submit” at the bottom of the page. The calendar is a separate entity from “Inside UF,” but events from the calendar are often listed within “Inside UF” as well as appear in other various campus publications.

Best wishes for the promotion of your college or unit’s news in 2008!
